DPA Privacy Policy

To Our Members and Other Website Users:

Information Collected Through the DPA Website

The Delaware Psychological Association is committed to maintaining the privacy of your personal information.  Where personal information is required to use or interact with the DPA website, it is DPA policy that this information – such as your name, postal or e-mail address or telephone number – is private and confidential.

The personal information you provide to DPA is stored in a secure location, accessible only by appropriate staff, and is used only for the purposes for which you provided it, such as to respond to a question, to register you for a DPA event or provide you with information on upcoming DPA events in which you may have an interest.  Personal information collected as a function of the DPA website will not be released to third parties except to further the purpose for which you provided it or if such release is required by law.

Membership Information
Personal information collected through membership administration is used by DPA in our membership mailing list, members’ listserv and in the DPA membership directory.  DPA never provides members’ e-mail addresses for third-party usage.  Members’ business postal addresses and telephone numbers are occasionally shared with the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Psychological Association Insurance Trust (APAIT) to provide you with information relevant to your membership, profession, and/or career.

The DPA Membership Directory, available to members through the members-only section of our website, contains each member’s name, degree, business address, company (if applicable), and business telephone number.  This is the same information that is required for member participation in the DPA on-line “Find a Psychologist” referral service.  Members are prohibited from using the information in the DPA Membership Directory for solicitation or other commercial purposes.

Opt-Out
As a DPA member, you may instruct us to exclude your name and other personal information from our listserv, member mailing list, membership directory or the contact information we occasionally provide to the APA and APAIT by emailing DPA at admin@depsych.org.   Should you choose to opt out, please be clear in your opt out request as to whether you are opting out of all lists or just certain lists.
