Workshop Description:
Reading Disorder. Specific Learning Disability. Dyslexia. The terms can be confusing to clinicians and families alike! Join us for this 90-minute workshop that focuses on the identification, assessment, and intervention for dyslexia and reading disorders in school-age children. Learn the early signs and features of dyslexia, increase your skill in dispelling myths about dyslexia, and familiarize yourself with tools that can be used in the assessment of the condition. This workshop will also review the state of evidence-based interventions for dyslexia for learners at different developmental levels.
Learning Objectives:
- Define terms related to learning disabilities, including dyslexia and learning disorder.
- Discuss signs and features of learning disabilities including dyslexia.
- Describe tools used to diagnose reading disorders.
- List features of evidence-based intervention for reading disorders at various educational levels.
