Membership Types & Annual Dues

Full Member

Full Members of the association shall be persons who are interested in the advancement of psychology as a science and as a profession and who have received a doctoral degree from a program primarily psychological in content, conferred by an accredited educational institution.

Annual Dues: $320



Early Career Member

Upon graduation, doctoral recipients in psychology are eligible for Early Career membership for five years until their transition to Full membership.

Annual Dues: $180



Post-Doctoral Member

Post-doctoral fellows are defined as those professionals who have been awarded a terminal degree in psychology or a related field which satisfies requirements for licensure as a psychologist in Delaware upon successful completion of supervised experience.

Annual Dues: $55

Out-of-State Member

Psychologists who reside in another state and who do not work or maintain a clinical practice in the State of Delaware, but who wish to maintain an affiliation with DPA, may become Out-of-State Members provided that they are members in good standing of their home state’s psychological association.

Annual Dues: $180



Associate Member

Associate Members of the association shall be persons who are mental health professionals, who are not eligible to become Full or Student Members, including, but not limited to psychology assistants, masters-level school psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors and psychiatric nurses.

Annual Dues: $190



Affiliate Member

Affiliate Members of the Association shall be persons with an interest in psychology who are not eligible for Full, Associate, Out-of-State, or Student memberships.

Annual Dues: $190



Late Career

Any Full or Associate Member who is between the ages of 65 and 70 may apply in writing to the Executive Council for reduced membership dues. 

Annual Dues: $180



Later Career

Any Full or Associate Member who is 71 or older may apply in writing to the Executive Council for reduced membership dues.

Annual Dues: $120



Student Member

Student Members of the Association shall be persons who are undergraduate or graduate students in psychology, educational psychology, an area that is psychological in nature.

Annual Dues: $40



Emeritus Member

Any Full or Associate Member who is 75 years or older and has been a member of the DPA for 20 or more years may apply for dues-exempt status (must be retired/not working) by emailing delpsychology@gmail.com to the attention of the Executive Council.

Dues-Exempt/Hardship Status (Complete form here.)

Any Full Member who is disabled may apply in writing to the Chairperson of the Membership Committee for dues-exempt status. Additionally, any member who is experiencing financial hardship may also apply to the Membership Committee Chairperson in writing for reduced dues during the hardship period. 

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Scholarship in Psychology

The DPA recognizes the study and practice of psychology exists within a majority culture that does not afford equitable access and opportunity to all and is striving to actively dismantle policies and processes that oppress individuals and groups. In our effort to shift systemic inequalities and foster inclusion and equality, we are starting a fund that will provide yearly grant awards to students and professionals of color at the secondary, undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral levels as well as established professionals and career changers. All scholarship candidates must either work, live, or be a student in training program in in the State of Delaware.
